Our Mission
The Well Outreach exists to be the hands and feet of Jesus by serving those in need through supporting spiritual, emotional and physical growth.
Our History
The Well Outreach began as a food pantry in a local church in 2006, with the goal of showing God’s love by giving food to those in need. In 2009, The Well Outreach incorporated as its own 501c3 non-profit entity, hoping to expand its reach to more of the community.
It is now supported by the amazingly generous community in Spring Hill and surrounding areas. Numerous individuals, churches, civic organizations and businesses contribute on a regular basis to ensure that no household in our community goes without food.


Our CEO
Shelly Sassen has served in the role of Chief Executive Officer since 2019. Through her strong leadership and vision, she has grown the Well Outreach substantially, allowing for the opportunity to serve countless more additional families and at-risk Students each month. She has also introduced creative community-focused fundraising during the pandemic and beyond, while at the same time growing the Well staff from two staff members to a team of twelve. Paul Goldsmith, a Well Outreach Board Member, comments: “Shelly is a successful entrepreneur and marketing professional who could work anywhere, and we are blessed to have her at the helm of The Well to serve those in need. Under her leadership, The Well is now serving nearly three times as many people as before the pandemic, and has transformed our neighborhood food pantry into a regional food organization that reaches beyond Spring Hill throughout Maury County and beyond.”
Our Mission
Our organization exists to provide for the hunger needs of our community. This is accomplished by serving those in need through supporting spiritual, emotional and physical growth. Our four programs include a weekly food pantry, our Jetpack Program, mobile food pantries, and family coaching. While the Well Outreach is centrally located to serve Williamson and Maury Counties, we operate without any geographical boundaries, ensuring that anyone who visits us with a hunger need will have those needs met with dignity. The need of our community is great, and that need is continuing to grow month by month, year by year. It truly takes a community to feed a community!
The Well Outreach is recognized as a nonprofit organization by the IRS.
