The Our Chance Program
What is Our Chance TN?
The Well Outreach has teamed up with 31 other organizations across Middle Tennessee to help families improve their living circumstances and move out of the cycle of poverty.
Sometimes as people begin to earn more money in their work, their additional income causes them to lose some of the benefits provided by the government. This is referred to as the benefits cliff, and it poses a real challenge for people who are seeking improved employment to help their families. They want the best for their families but to do what’s best financially, they can’t move forward without somehow falling back.
The Our Chance program provides a unique support system by which to accompany families as they move forward financially and navigate the benefits cliff.
Who does the program serve?
Families are eligible to enroll in the Our Chance TN program if you:
- are a resident of Williamson or Maury County
- have at least on child aged 17 and under
- are receiving government benefits
- have a household income of 185% or less of the Federal Poverty Level
- are a U.S resident
