Our Mission and Story
How We Have Grown and Crafted Our Model of Care
Our Mission
The Well Outreach exists to be the hands and feet of Jesus by serving those in need through supporting spiritual, emotional and physical growth.
Our organization provides food for the hungry in our community. We do this in a manner that fully recognizes the dignity of each person who comes to us with this need. We welcome them, listen to them, pray with them and provide personal accompaniment and client choice as they shop for food.
We operate without any geographical boundaries, ensuring that anyone who visits us will be provided with food. Each year, since our founding in 2006, we have served more and more families from a wider geographical area. We now operate four programs to meet the needs of those facing food insecurity.
Our community’s need is great, but so too is our community’s response. Over 400 volunteers help us each week. Painted on large walls in both of our food pantries is the mantra we live by: It takes a community to feed a community!
Our Story
From the back room of a local church to a 16,000 square foot facility – learn how we listened and responded to God’s call to expand our mission.

The Well Outreach is launched as a food pantry in a local church with the goal of showing God’s love by giving food to those in need.

In an effort to provide access to food outside of our pantry location and hours, The Well Outreach begins Saturday morning mobile food pantries.

The Well Outreach becomes an official 501(c)(3) charitable organization and seeks to expand their impact in the Spring Hill community.

The student weekend meal bag program begins, serving a small set of local area schools.

We acquire our first standalone space within a strip mall along Main Street in Spring Hill. It is 1500 square feet and the doorways are too narrow for us to bring food in by the pallet.

After ten years of operation, The Well Outreach finally hires its first full-time employee - Shelly Sassen.

The Well Outreach leases the building at 5306 Main Street in Spring Hill, which expands our footprint to 7000 square feet. This new building allows us to more comfortably welcome our guests and more efficiently move food.

The Well Outreach joins 30 other organizations across Tennessee in the Our Chance Program, helping families navigate their way out of poverty.

Extending our reach and impact in Maury County, The Well Outreach opens a 16,000 square foot pantry on Main Street in Mount Pleasant.
